The German national football team is one of the most successful teams in the world: the won four World Cups (1954, 1974, 1990, 2014), three European Championships (1972, 1980, 1996), as well as the Confederations Cup in 2017.

However, for me they are one of the most boring teams. Being a big fan of  Germany as a child – mainly from 1994 to 1996 – I quickly lost interest in them. As a Bayer Leverkusen supporter it was difficult for me to cheer for the players that played at Leverkusen’s rivals. Thus, I started supporting the underdogs that would participate in the big tournaments, such as Slovenia, Latvia, Iceland etc.

Yet somehow quite a few Germany jerseys have found their way into my collection.
