The “Super Eagles,” as Nigeria's national team is also known, are famous for their extravagant jerseys. Back in the 90s, the team ran across the field wearing carpet patterns, before joining the “jersey boredom” trend of the 2000s. Since Nike's 2018 design went viral, the American manufacturer has tried to outdo itself every year with spectacular designs that have worked more or less well.

One absolutely positive example is definitely the 2022 home jersey, which features a jumble of patterns that are randomly assembled for each shirt, making every jersey unique. Very lucky collectors even get a picture of a man shooting lasers from his eyes (see below)!

I'm not one of the lucky ones who have „Laser Guy“ on their shirts, but then again, few others have a matchworn Nigeria jersey with the signatures of the entire team in their closet!

Based on Nike's high-quality “Vaporknit” fabric, the jersey joins a series of other terrific designs by the „Swoosh“.

I obtained this jersey from the former assistant coach of the Super Eagles, who in turn received it as a gift from Moses Simon after a game. As I already mentioned, the entire team has signed the back. Now it's up to me to do my homework and find out which player is behind which scribble…
