I have already written about Stephan Schröck, Patrick Reichelt, Harry Föll, Gerrit Holtmann, Raphael Obermair, John-Patrick Strauß and Mark Winhoffer, who all share a German surname and are or were part of the Philippines national team, in my article about my other matchworn Philippines jersey.
One German-born player I haven't mentioned is Kevin Ingreso, who spent his career in the youth teams of Hamburger SV before earning his money in various teams in Thailand, the Philippines and Malaysia.
I now have one of his jerseys hanging on my clothes rail!
It was worn in a friendly match against China in 2017, which Ingreso probably doesn't remember too fondly, as the “Azkals” lost 8-1!
The stylish blue away shirt from Philippine manufacturer LGR was rarely used - probably only once with the AFC Asia Cup 2019 qualifying patches and, strangely enough, in a friendly match.
